Halloween is a sinister day with occultic
roots. As we move along in the last days
an increasing number of people are
realizing that Halloween is a pagan
worship day. It is day that honors false
gods, demons and Satan. I have no
desire to enter into the worship of false
gods nor honor the devil. I hope you will
agree and decide NOT TO
CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN. Put
Ephesians 5:11 into practice, "...have
NO fellowship with the unfruitful works of
darkness, but rather reprove (expose)
them."

November 10, 2008 What Thanksgiving Means to Me...
|

I am not much of a holiday man,
even more so since I accepted
Jesus Christ, my Lord, my King of
Kings and my Savior.
I guess for me, Thanksgiving is
one of my more favorite of the
Holidays we keep. My celebration
may be a little different than
yours. Because of the business I
am in, the day will be another
work day for me. But like any
day, I will be profoundly thankful
that Jesus is in my life.
Like any day, I will wake up and
be thankful to Jesus for blessing
me yet with another day. I will be
thankful to the Lord, for giving
me a roof over my head and a
good job that sustains the
necessities in my life. I will be
thankful, that God made me who
I am and has given me the mind
and talent to evangelize and
work for Jesus in my own
way-everyday. I will be thankful
that Jesus is with me 24/7, by my
side always and will be thankful
that after living a life of sin, that
he still loves me and has saved
me.
It is an amazing feeling to love
Jesus and to have Jesus in my
life! Turkey, parades and football
are fun, but for me, Thanksgiving
is only about Jesus; What he has
done for me; What he can do for
you and how he can save the
world. Fill your life with prayer
and let everyday be your
Thanksgiving to OUR SAVIOR,
JESUS CHRIST.

December 7, 2008 Caution: December 25th is Near!
|
“Christmas the way I see it ..”
So far this season we have had one gentleman trampled to death due to a throng
of Christmas shoppers wanting to save a few dollars off some gift they were buying
to celebrate the day our Lord was born. Looks to me as if Satan himself is getting
into the “Christmas” spirit!
I love the Lord, and seeing nothing wrong with acknowledging his birth as so
stated in the Bible: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord” Luke 2:11 (KJV). Personally, I choose to celebrate the
Lord’s birth everyday of the year rather than on just only December 25th. But
Bible does not specifically state the actual birth date of Jesus, and being the true
word of God, I can not get caught up in marking only this date in celebration of his
birth. Historians based on their extensive studies have actually concluded that the
birth of Christ probably could not have occurred in anyway at this time of year.(ref
1). One thing that is certain about December 25th is that the choice of this date is
certainly pagan in origin; as of course many of the customs associated with this
date are as well.
The origins of the name Christmas present problems for me as well. The word
Christmas originated as a compound meaning “Christ’s Mass” (ref 2) In no way
do I celebrate or attend “Mass”. That is reserved for my friends of other faiths, but
“mass” has no meaning for me whatsoever.
Now, with my sentiments about the holiday stated above, below is a list I have
made on how I do get through this time of year and the things I do or don’t do
between Thanksgiving and the New Year.
I do give gifts. There are certain people in my life that are very special to me. In
the tradition of the magi bestowing gifts upon the Saviour, I see it fitting to gift
others. (“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young Child with
Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened
their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”
Matthew 2:11 ) In my gift giving, I do not incur debt nor are these gifts extravagant.
And in the process of my gift giving I make sure that I evangelize the Lord in some
fashion. And along with giving to those that are special to me I also give, as I do
during the rest of the year to certain Christian charities that need support; it seems
more so in these hard economic times we are embarking on.
I do send out cards but rather than traditional “Christmas” cards I write notes and
letters sharing my thoughts and love for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is
one of those times during the year that is an opportune time to evangelize. If I can
convert one sinner to Jesus, If I can save one man or woman and lead them to the
Glory of God, that alone makes it all worthwhile.
On Christmas Day I do not do anything special. I continue to love the Lord as I do
everyday of the year. As always, I do what I can to evangelize for the Lord, I read
my Bible and pray. Being in the business I am in, I generally work on Christmas
and see that as a wonderful opportunity to work for the Lord in my own way among
my co-workers and colleagues.
I do find this day and the Holiday season a good time to hand out Tracts. Being
the nature of the season, many seem to be more responsive to my tracts at this
time. Sure, many of the tracts I pass out get thrown away but the important thing
for me to remember is that if I pass out a thousand tracts and one is saved then it
is all worth my time and effort.
I do not decorate for Christmas. The trappings of Christmas personally I find
offensive only because they are pagan in nature. Homes decorated with
Christmas lights are sure fun to look at but are these garish displays remind me
more of Las Vegas, Strip Joins or bars than the Lord himself! Also, I am becoming
“greener” and “greener” as each day passes and from my personal perspective, I
find all these blaring lights to be a true waste of precious energy. Tone it down
people!
I avoid any Holiday celebrations and parties where drinking is involved. This one
is easy since I do not drink, alcohol is the elixir of Satan and Christmas or not, I do
not attend any function where alcohol is served.
There is nothing much I can seem to do about Santa Claus, although I despise this
figure. This icon of the holidays I see more as a true symbol of Satan. Why do
we deceive our children with this nonsense? We use Santa, this Satanic image to
control the behavior of our Children rather than just relying on our faith in Jesus.
Children are lied to by their parents and the media alike with warnings that if you
don’t believe in Santa you won’t get good toys this year. Then suddenly at some
stage of their lives Children suddenly have to deal with the fact they were deceive
or lied too by their parents, the people they trust the most in their lives. What I
also find offensive is many folk of little means are getting themselves deeper into
poverty in order to keep intact the myth of Santa. Let’s get rid of Santa now!
PLEASE READ!
Am I a Scrooge? Not in anyway. But I can not compromise my beliefs just to go
along “with the crowd”. Before you write your hate mail to me, and many of you
will, please remember that the above is how I personally keep this time of year.
There are many good people who celebrate Christmas in a big way and that’s just
fine with me but please if you do, keep Jesus as the core and center of your
celebration. He is our Lord and Savior and take it from me; any day of the year is a
day to celebrate his birth. Christmas in July? You bet!
I would love to hear from you. I am always interested in your comments and feedback.
Let me pray for you; remember Jesus Saves and he can save YOU!
God Bless
